Why I came to China.
I decided to come to China because I wanted to develop my understanding of Oriental culture and to witness first hand the unfolding events of a country undergoing a rapid transformation. I first visited China in 1999 on a sightseeing trip, a whirlwind tour that only gave me a brief glimpse of this vast country. On my return in 2001, I chose to settle in Shanghai, a dynamic and historically fascinating city, a place that offered a rich diversity of activities and opportunities.

Why I chose to work at Kai En?
I joined Kai En as a full-time teacher in 2002, recommended to the school by a close friend. I enjoy working at Kai En because of the genuinely friendly and professional atmosphere. The students in the school are dedicated to learning English and in return receive the personal attention that is requisite to improving their English level. I chose to work at Kai En over other language schools in Shanghai because the school offered the opportunity for personal development in the field of teaching, as well as ensuring staff received on going training and support from an experienced management team. The focus on quality is exemplary, with each individual students needs taken into account.
