Nationality: Australian Education: I studied my bachelor’s degree at the university of Bradford and majored in Social and Welfare Studies. I am currently studying a master’s degree in Applied Criminology and so am usually quite busy. Certificates:

Teaching experience:
I have taught English in China for four years. I began teaching spoken English in a city called Baoji in central China, where I worked for two and a half years. I went on to teach British and American literature in Xi'an, where I worked for a year before coming to Kai En.

Language and Cultural Experiences
I studied Chinese for a year and a half and so am at reasonable level of spoken Chinese, although I have not studied Chinese characters. I have traveled to various cities in China including Kunming, Chengdu and Beijing.

About Myself
I am thirty-four years old and have a Chinese wife, who I met and married in Baoji. I originally came to China as a volunteer for a development organization, called Voluntary Services Overseas, which places English teachers in less economically developed areas of China. I chose to come to China because I thought that it would be an interesting cultural experience.

Why I chose to work at Kai En?
I chose to come to Kai En to work because I was particularly interested in teaching older students, as I had always taught university students. I also heard that Kai En was a good school and had enthusiastic students.
