Language and Cultural Experiences
In 1997, at the end of my first year of university, I organized a two-month trip in the United States and Mexico that I funded by money earned through part-time work. I have also traveled extensively, through North East and South East Asia and the United Kingdom. I can speak a little Chinese, Thai, Korean, Japanese and Ukranian (As my father is from Ukraine).

About Myself
I was born in Canberra, where I lived until I was 22. In University, I regularly had articles published in the student magazine and have contributed ideas to numerous ESL teaching websites, so I enjoy writing.

Why I came to China?
I came to China the first time because I wanted to experience another country and it was very easy to get a teaching job, with no experience, in Shijiazhuang. I liked China so much I stayed for 1 ? years. I came back to China because I missed the food and the people and also to see how much China has changed in the time I was away.

Why I chose to work at Kai En?
I applied to Kai En because I heard from a friend who had worked here in 2002 that the school provided support and training for its teachers. As I have been teaching for almost 5 years, I believe that constant training and development are important for my career.
