Teaching Experience:
Coleman’s extensive teaching experience in China has taken him to four different Cities in as many years, giving him a rich cultural understanding. Starting in Dalian, Liaoning, Coleman got a taste of the northeast teaching Adults in New Century English Training Center and Future School. Curious to see more of China, Coleman moved to Qingdao, Shandong. Around Asia English Training Center provided Coleman with an atmosphere to hone his teaching skills.

Later, two years of teaching in Universities in both Chongqing, and Chengdu, respectively, Coleman became enriched in the Chinese education system. In universities Coleman was able to work with the traditional methods of education in China and improve students oral and written English adding the most advanced techniques.

Teaching in Shanghai at Kaien has given Coleman the opportunity to improve and grow as a teacher and really assess and meet students’ needs.

Language and Cultural Experiences:

At the age of 14, Coleman began learning Chinese. With a gifted teacher and a keen interest in the language and culture, Coleman quickly excelled. Three years later, in high school, Coleman organized a class trip to China with his teacher, Mrs. Kuo. Six weeks and ten cities infused an interest in China that Coleman was unable to shake.

Ten years later, Coleman has been living and teaching in China for four years in four very different places, affording him the rich experience that is China.

About Myself
Coleman was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana USA. He is married with a beautiful baby, and is expecting another addition to his family next March. Fishing has always been one of Coleman’s favorite hobbies, and he misses dropping a line in the water for his favorite game fish.

Why I came to China?
Coleman first came to China out of curiosity to see the world and to broaden his horizons. He then returned to China to teach and experience the culture and improve his language skills. There was a quick bond that has kept Coleman in China to live and learn and teach.

Why I chose to work at Kai En?
Foreigners living in China are numerous, but teachers often live in a smaller world. After Coleman had heard of Kaien’s reputation with both teachers and students, he was very happy to move to Shanghai to work with Kaien.

Kaien has the experience and resources to support teachers, so they can provide the best learning experience for the students. This also allows teachers to have a rich and fulfilling experience in Shanghai and China.
