In my nearly three years of experience in teaching English I have focused on teaching the methods requisite to speak conversational English in the fashion of a native speaker.I have also taught presentational English as well as business English.

I can speak intermediate conversational French and elementary Chinese.I have traveled extensively throughout North America, Western and Eastern Europe, and Asia.I have lived and studied in France, Canada, Japan and China.

About Myself
I was born in Flint, Michigan, USA.I have loving parents and grandparents, and two wonderful brothers.My father is in the restaurant business and my mother is a teacher.My youngest brother, Alex, is ten years old, and Aaron is 20 years old, studying physics in university.I have a passion for studying the myriad designs of our physical, economic and cultural environments.I also read extensively, having grown a taste for 19th century Russian literature, as well as Chinese classics such as Tao Te Ching.I have an insatiable curiosity about the relationship between human life and the natural universe, and as a consequence study various aspects of Taoism and Zen Buddhism.I also love discovering new places and meeting new people; in so doing I can improve my understanding of myself and the world in general.

Why I came to China.
I have planned to come to Shanghai, China since 2003, when fate gave me the chance to build a genuine love for the Chinese way-of-life and cultivate an incessant need to understand the complexities of Chinese culture.I absolutely love to teach English to Chinese students, imparting my understanding of this beautiful and intricate language on others. Being in China also allows me the opportunity to give something back to a country that has given me so much.I am also committed to learning Mandarin and understanding China’s built environment.I feel that my future resides in China.I wish to build my life in this wonderful country, and I am very happy to call Shanghai ‘home’.
