Teaching Experience:
2005 - Present: I work in Kai En English Training center as a full time teacher.
Since joining Kai En, I have taught conversation English to all levels from beginner to elementary. I have helped students to improve their listening skills, to improve their grammar and to build a stronger vocabulary. However, the more important thing is, we have helped the students to build up their confidence in English speaking. I have also taught business English for Kai En business Department.
2004-2005: During my study in Fudan, I was a part time teacher in Neworld Training center and an interpreter. I taught oral English and business English to joint venture staff and also taught mandarin to foreign people in Shanghai. As an interpreter, I attended a lot of world conferences and translated for the Communist Party secretary of Shanghai Jing An District.
2001 -2004: I was an English teacher in Hubei University of Economics. I taught English to university and college students. I have taught reading, writing, listening and speaking. I have used a wide variety of textbooks including, College English, Practice English, Cambridge English and Law English, etc. I received numerous awards in English Teaching Competitions in our university. I also undertook the training for CET 4 and PET (Public English Test) in our school. I focus the students on strategies to get a high score on their test. Using effective strategies to learn is an important part of what I learned during my studies and I show the students how to make the best use of study skills and strategies to get a good result in the CET test. In 2003 I was designated to mark CET test papers.
Language and Cultural Experience:
Besides a good command of English, I'm able to speak a little bit French and Italian. I've traveled in Europe and I spent three months in Australia and traveled a lot of places there. During my time in Sydney, I had a lot of different cultural experiences that have helped me in my teaching career. I also participated in a World Conference as an interpreter and hosted a number of foreign guests from all over the world. I learned a lot about dealing with foreigners and foreign customs during this program.
About Myself
I became a teacher just after I graduated from university and I have chosen teacher as my life career. I am outgoing and easygoing. I like to communicate with different people and make friends. Probably that’s why I chose to be a teacher. I always tell my students that I am not only their teacher, but also their friend. And fortunately, most students have been my friends. We often go out for dinner together, have birthday parties together and even barbeques.
